What are the differences between the different styles of bracelets?

  • Wrapped Bracelet:  This bracelet is made from recycled strings, a sterling wire wrap and a stainless steel clasp.
  • Initialed Bracelet:  This bracelet is made from recycled strings, a sterling band engraved with the artist's initials and a stainless steel clasp.

    These bracelets have a clasp and allow for a snugger fit.
    Wrap the string around your wrist where you'd like your bracelet to sit and add about a half an inch (you don't want your bracelet too tight). Example: My wrist is 7 inches, so I will order a 7.5 bracelet that will be 7.5 inches, including the clasp. We offer only half inch increments.

    What is it made out of?

    Our Famous Artist Bracelets are handcrafted from actual guitar and bass strings, donated by the artist of your choice.  The bracelets are as unique as the artists themselves.  They come in a range of colors, metals, and finishes.  Some strings have ball ends, others are plain; some are thick, others are thin.  It all depends on what the artist provides to us.  Therefore, we cannot fulfill orders based on individual string requests.


    Will it rust?

    Though some customers have reported safely wearing their bracelets in the shower, we cannot guarantee this won’t damage your bracelet.  Guitar strings are made out of metal and metal can rust.  Therefore, we advise you to avoid exposure to water.


    When will more strings come in?

    We do our best to keep strings in stock from a variety of artists.  However, the artists decide when to send us more.  If we have any knowledge of the date when we expect strings, it will be added to their page. To be notified when more strings are available, click on the Notify Me button on the artist's item. You will receive an email when more strings become available!


    Can I request an artist you don’t have?

    Sure! Email us and we will add the artist to our outreach list. Please note, we cannot in any way guarantee their participation. However, we will let you know if and when we receive strings!


    Is the bracelet in stock or not?

    Unless it is a Sale Bracelet or a Limited Edition bracelet and says, “bracelet is already made and ready to ship,” then NO!  We stock the strings, but we handcraft each bracelet at the time it is ordered.  Please allow the necessary time it takes for us to make your bracelet before it ships.


    When will my bracelet ship?

    We handcraft each and every bracelet upon request.  When ordering, please allow at least three weeks for production.  


    How do I clean my bracelet?

    We recommend keeping your artist bracelet dry and clean at all times.  Since guitar strings are metal, they can rust and corrode.  If your bracelet gets wet, dry it immediately.  Also, try to avoid exposure to lotion or perfumes.  As needed, you may buff with a silver cleaning cloth.


    Help, my bracelet doesn’t fit!

    Whoops!  You have two options.  You can have a clasp added; we can make your bracelet either bigger (maximum increase of ½ inch) or smaller.  Or, you can exchange your bracelet for a new size, so long as we have sufficient strings in stock. To have a clasp added, please click HERE.  To exchange your current bracelet for a new size please email us.


    Can I return my bracelet?

    Artist Bracelets can be returned within 30 days of receipt, in their original, unworn condition. However, shipping is non-refundable.  In addition, you will be charged a $10.00 processing fee.

    Please include a copy of your original email order.  Upon receiving the return, the item will be reviewed and, barring any problems, a refund will be issued within approximately seven days.  We cannot be held responsible for any items lost in the mail, so we recommend you use a traceable/insured parcel service.


    Help, my bracelet is broken!

    Sometimes, a bracelet breaks.  The Artist Bracelets are made from USED guitar strings, thus they can be fragile.  If your bracelet requires repair within 30 days from receipt, we will gladly provide complimentary repair.  After this time, we offer a paid repair service.  However, there is no guarantee that damaged merchandise can be fixed.

    One-Size-Fits-All Guitar and Bass String Bracelets

    Will it rust?

    Does the color come off?

    The colored bracelets (not silver, gold and graphite) are electroplated.  Color may come off, if the bracelet encounters something abrasive.  Therefore, we recommend not stacking the electroplated, colored bracelets or wearing with other metal jewelry.

    What is it made out of?

    The one-size-fits-all guitar and bass string bracelets are made from guitar and bass strings that are lead, nickel and cadmium free.

    What size are they?

    The bracelets measure approximately nine inches in length.  They are wrap-style bracelets, which can be bent and shaped to suit each and every wrist!

    International orders

    International Customers:  Please read carefully, as the shipping, return, fees and other order policies may differ for International orders from the U.S. orders.

    Please be aware that orders shipped outside the US may be subject to local customs fees or duties.  Every country has different procedures and fees for incoming packages. Wear Your Music does not have information on customs or duties, and we are unable to estimate these charges.  Please check with your local authorities before placing an order.  Wear Your Music is not responsible for non-paid import taxes, nor will Wear Your Music issue any refunds or exchanges for deliveries that have been refused for non-payment of import taxes.

    The shipping times for International orders will vary by country.  Wear Your Music cannot guarantee delivery dates on International Orders.  PLEASE NOTE: International orders can potentially become delayed in Customs beyond 10 days.  If it has been over 30 days and your order has not yet arrived, please email us.

    There are no refunds or exchanges for all International orders, so please review your order carefully.

    Can I place a backorder

    Unfortunately, we do not take backorders at this time.

    How can I reach someone regarding my order?

    The best way is to email us.  Please include your order number, full name, and email address with which you purchased the item.

    What product did you purchase?  Remember, custom products, like Artist Bracelets, can take up to three weeks in production.

    Can you cancel my order?

    For the most part, unless it is custom order or it has already been shipped, we are able cancel your order. Please email us and include your order number, full name, and email address with which you purchased the item.

    Where does my order ship from?

    Your order ships from our office in Providence, RI.

    Address Corrections

    If you need to change your shipping address and the order has not left, we will attempt to correct.  Please email us and include your order number, full name, email address used to purchased the item, as well as the OLD and NEW shipping addresses.


    Discounts are applied at the time of purchase, not when an order is shipped. Please remember we cannot apply a discount after the purchase has been completed.


    How do you decide which charity the money goes to?

    We do not decide where the profits will go.  Each artist selects the charity they want to support!

    Is my purchase tax deductible?

    At this time your purchase is not tax deductible, as we are not a non-profit.

    How to care for charms?

    Please keep them dry and lightly polish with a cleaning cloth.

    Is there a store I can go to?

    At this time Wear Your Music is online only.  

    How can I get wholesale info?

    Return and Refund Policy 


    Our policy, where applicable, lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can not offer you a refund or exchange.

    To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in the original packaging.

    Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Customized items (Artist Bracelets) which are made to order are not eligible for return. Gift certificates are also non-returnable items. Sale, discounted and clearance items also cannot be returned.

    To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase, which you can provide via order number. Please email us before returning your item to make certain your return is eligible. Include your order number in the email.

    Refunds (if applicable)

    Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

    If you are approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 14 days. Please note, different companies may not reflect the refund for a full statement period.

    Sale items (if applicable)

    Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

    Exchanges - Non Artist Bracelets

    We only replace eligible items if they are defective or damaged, this does not include Artist Bracelets as they are made from recycled and donated strings which we cannot quality control.     Exchanges - Artist Bracelets

    If your Artist Bracelet is the wrong size you can either (within 30 days of purchase in original packaging in an unworn state) exchange it for another size for $40 plus shipping as long as we have strings in stock. Or if your bracelet is a Classic Bangle you can have a clasp added to it for $75 plus shipping. To discuss, please send us an email at and include your order number.


    If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be emailed to you.


    To return your item, you should mail your product to: 198 Ives St., Providence, RI 02906 US.

    You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

    Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

    If you are shipping an item over $50, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We are not responsible for lost or stolen goods.
