Kenny Gradney, is a native of New Orleans, LA but grew up in the Los Angeles area. He is an American bassist and songwriter, best known as a member of the band Little Feat. He joined after their second album, and Gradney has remained their bassist ever since. Gradey is considered to be a part of the classic Little Feat lineup that consists of Lowell George, Bill Payne, Richie Hayward, Paul Barrere, and Sam Clayton. He played on most of Little Feat’s most iconic albums including Dixie Chicken, Feats Don’t Fail Me Know, and Waiting for Columbus, which is considered by some to be one of the greatest live albums of all time. In the summer of 1970, Gradney participated in a multi-group tour of Canadian stadium shows known as Festival Express as a member of Delaney & Bonnie in which all of the groups traveled together on a locomotive. He appears in the documentary film of the same name playing and partying with Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, Rick Danko and others. In addition to his work with Little Feat, Gradney has played and recorded with many notable musicians, including Delaney & Bonnie, Bob Weir’s Bobby & the Midnights, Jazz is Dead, Robert Palmer, and Carly Simon.
