Lucy Dacus is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. She began her musical journey in Richmond, Virginia, and has released four studio albums including No Burden (2016), Historian (2018), and Home Video (2020), which explored the world of childhood and adolescence. In addition to her solo work, Dacus joined forces with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker to form the band boygenius. Their album The Record (2023) garnered widespread acclaim and saw the trio take home three Grammy Awards. Her fourth and most recent album, Forever Is a Feeling explores falling in and out of love, the tumult of desire, and larger than life romance. Dacus makes a serious inquiry into what it looks like to dedicate one’s life to true love, and a valiant attempt to capture the elusive, fleeting feeling of forever. Released on March 28, 2025, Forever is a Feeling is Dacus’ major label debut as a solo artist. See more at lucydac.us.
A portion of profits from the sale of Lucy Dacus' strings go to Die Jim Crow: In 2020 Die Jim Crow Records officially launched as the nation’s first non-profit record label for formerly and currently incarcerated musicians. Our mission is to dismantle stereotypes around race and prison in America by amplifying the voices of our artists. Though still centered on the Black experience, DJC has become a diverse and inclusive organization, representing the wide range and creative perspectives of marginalized people impacted by prison, such as LGBTQIA+, immigrants, indigenous people, women, poor whites, and people of color etc. See more at diejimcrow.com.
