My parents recently turned me on to a group of the most amazing performers I have ever had the pleasure of listening to,  The Piano Guys. Pianist Jon Schmidt and cellist Steven Sharp Nelson were first spotted in 2011 on YouTube after posting renditions of some of todays most popular songs on the billboard charts, such as Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” and Coldplay’s “Paradise”.  And as pleasing to the ears as their music is, their video’s are equally captivating and entertaining. “Cello Wars (Star Wars Parody)” is comedy combined with some incredible musical skills. Starring Steven himself, as both a Jedi Master and a Sith Lord who come together to battle, not only using lightsabers, but cellos. Complete with an appearance from Chewbacca and an accordion playing Darth Vader, you won’t be able to take your eyes off the screen.

Even those out there who are adverse to classical or instrumental music will be taken in by these musicians passion. Some of their songs include vocal help from some up and coming artists like Alex Goot and new pop sensation Megan Nicole on their version of Taylor Swifts " Begin Again". Other songs like Swedish House Mafia's "Don't Your Worry Child" has a cultural twist to it, with a traditional Hindi prayer sung by Shweta Subram

Needless to say, no matter what your taste in music, be it Pop, Rap, New Age or Oldies, once you listen to The Piano Guys you will listen with rapt attention. And even if it's not your thing, you can't deny they are creative and talented musicians with passion and a sense of humor.
