On October 20th, 2016 we held a LIVE auction using Facebook's new live video platform.  In partnership with St Thomas Lupus Trust we spent an hour online auctioning off a Paul McCartney Guitar String Bracelet. 

The winning bit raised over $5000!  We were in tears already - but the story of the winner and his unsuspecting wife was even more moving.  Here is the story, straight from Cameron, the winning bidder:

"When I first found out about the auction for the Paul McCartney guitar string bracelet, I wanted to try and win it for my wife Samantha as she is a HUGE Paul McCartney fan. Then, when I found out that all of the proceeds were benefiting the St. Thomas Lupus Trust, I knew that I absolutely had to win the auction.  It immediately became less about the bracelet, but more about contributing, in some small way, to the research of this mysterious disease that my wife Samantha, and 5 million other men and women worldwide, battle with every single day.  When I told my wife that I won the auction for her, she was in complete shock and disbelief.  Although Paul McCartney is Samantha's favorite artist, she has never had to opportunity to see him in concert.  So for her to have this one of a kind bracelet using guitar strings that Sir Paul actually played?!  It is hard to put into words so just how special that is for her.  We are so thankful to Wear Your Music for coordinating this auction and we are forever indebted to the St. Thomas Lupus Trust for the groundbreaking research that you support every single day."
